Structural phase-transitions and correlated physical properties of few wide band manganites

The focus of the presentation is on the temperature dependent structural, micro-structural magnetic and transport studies of the self-doped LaxMnO3±δ, electron doped wide band La1-xSrxMnO3-δ (0.67≤x≤0.85) and SrMn1-xMoxO3-δ (x=0.1-0.2) manganites. A part of the presentation is devoted to low-temperature and high magnetic field induced structural phase transition observed in half-doped La0.5Sr0.5MnO3-δ and nearly half-doped Nd0.49Sr0.51MnO3-δ manganites. The presentation will highlight following issues in manganites. The microscopic origin of (1) kinetic arrest phenomena observed in few phase separated manganites, (2) charge and orbital ordering in wide band electron doped manganites and (3) field induced first order magneto-structural phase transition in colossal magneto-resistive/magnetocaloric manganites.
