Multiple scattering corrections : possible applications for SANS techniques
Vendredi 16 juin 2017 14:00
- Duree : 1 heure
Lieu : Science Building Room 036 - ESRF - 71 avenue des Martyrs - Grenoble
Orateur : Javier DAWIDOWSKI 5Atomic Research Centre - Bariloche - Argentina)
This talk I will make an overview of the past activities in data processing and multiple scattering corrections in different neutron techniques, based on reactor and pulsed sources, done at the Neutron Physics Department in Bariloche Atomic Centre, Argentina. The techniques are diffraction, inelastic scatering, and electron-volt spectroscopy, ranging from subthermal to epithermal energies. In most of the cases the results aim to the measurement of cross sections in an absolute scale.
The purpose of the talk will be to exchange ideas on the needs of the different SANS lines at ILL to apply experimental corrections to their data, and the possibility to establish a possible cooperative working activity on the subject, with the aim to introduce us in the use of SANS techniques and to collaborate in producing useful software for data corrections. It is also of our greatest interest, that the new Argentinean reactor expected for 2020, will have a SANS facility.
