Magnetic heterostructures combine different systems in one, they display a rich spectrum of novel physical properties and represent an a lliance of advanced synthesis of materials, novel characterization techniques and innovative theoretical approaches. The remarkable properties of magnetic heterostructures are determined by the behavior of the spins at the interfaces and in confined geometries. The spatial distribution of magnetization at buried interfaces is effectively investigated with polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR) and off-specular scattering. In this talk I will present the status and the latest achievements on the Magnetism Reflectometer at the Spallation Neutron Source and will discuss experiments with advanced experimental conditions. Research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Spallation Neutron Source is sponsored by the Scientific User Facilities Division, Office of Basic Energy Sciences, U.S. Department of Energy.
