The Grenoble imaging network " Imagerie en Sciences du Vivant " together with ZEISS company organise a short meeting to present new imaging modalities in scanning electron microscopy (SEM) applied to biological samples.
This include presentation of the Multi SEM to image large field of view at the nanometer scale, FIB/SEM to image sample volume in 3D, the Helium microscope that uses not electrons but helium ions to image samples (amazing !), Cryo-scanning electron microscopes to image biological samples without any chemical preparation, X-ray Micro/nano tomography to image embedded biological in 3D and methodologies for correlative microscopy.
There is no doubt that these new methods will allow new discoveries in life sciences.
9:00 - 09:15 : Welcome, coffee
09:15 - 10:15 : Basics of Bio-SEM imaging, 3D Imaging SEM techniques, Correlative microscopy
10:15 – 10:30 : Coffee break
10:30 – 11h30 : XRay Microscopy, Multi-Beam SEM, Aberration corrected SEM, Helium-Ion Microscopy / SIMS analysis
11:30 – 12:00 : Questions and opened discussions.
