Precision measurements of angular correlations coefficients in neutron beta decay provide unique information about the weak interaction and contribute significantly to precision tests of the standard model of particle physics. We present the new facility PERC (Proton Electron Radiation Channel), a novel source of neutron decay products, which is currently under construction at the FRM II. It uses a strong magnetic field of up to 6 T and a non-depolarising neutron guide to provide the maximum phase space density of electrons and protons from neutron decay. Spectra and angular distributions will be free of distortions on the level of 10-4, an improvement of more than one order of magnitude compared to existing instruments. We give an overview on the concept of the PERC instrument, observables accessible, and the current status.
