Vendredi 7 juin 2013 14:00

Lieu : Amphi Chadwick, ILL4 - 6 rue Jules Horowitz - Grenoble
Orateur : Dr Nigel CLARKE
Scientific research produces scientific research results. Often these results are published in scientific literature and the driver for publication can be to inform, to establish scientific credentials, to support grant applications and so on.
However those very same research results can embody intellectual property, IP. That IP can be leveraged to generate revenue, perhaps to fund further research, to build businesses, to spin out companies etc..
Furthermore the information content from those research results, in their IP guise, can also be highly relevant to other researchers and innovators.
This seminar will look at the relationship between research and intellectual property, it will dispel some myths and misconceptions, and it will be illustrated by some real lief case studies, some with positive outcomes and some with not-so-good outcomes.
