Orateur : Dan Shechtman (Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2011) and 20 additional speakers.
In 2011 Professor Dan Shechtman received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his discovery of quasicrystals. The discovery of Dan Shechtman has been a paradigm shift in crystallography, and has opened a new field of research in solid state physics and chemistry but also in mathematics and applied physics.
The international symposium ‘Quasicrystals Today’ will gather in Grenoble, around Dan Shechtman, twenty internationally renowned scientists who will present state of the art researches in the field of quasicrystal and aperiodic crystals. The two days will offer to the participants a broad overview of the scientific activity in this fascinating field. This symposium will constitute an exceptional ‘Dautreppe seminar’.
Organizers : Marc de Boissieu et Didier Mayou
