MgB2 superconductor is believed to be a promising candidate for engineering applications in the temperature range of 20K 30K. In this thesis, the author investigates the effects of fabrication process, wire configuration designs and elemental doping (C or TiC inclusions) on the microstructures, phase composition and superconducting properties of mono-filamentary and multi-filamentary (6, 12 or 36 filaments) of MgB2/Nb/Cu wires fabricated by PIT (Powder In Tube) technique.
