The oscillatory interlayer exchange (RKKY) interacton between two magnetic layers separated by a metallic spacer is one of the few coherent quantum phenomena that persist at room temperature. In this talk, I will introduce the concept of dynamical control of interference pattern with ultra fast voltage pulses. I will show that the RKKY interacton can be controlled dynamically by illuminating the sample (e.g. a spin valve) with radiation in the 10–100THz range. This new sort of (dynamical) spin torque can be strong enough to induce magnetic reversal, possibly with very little dissipa6ng power.
