Structural studies of transmembrane proteins
Vendredi 30 mars 2018 11:00
- Duree : 1 heure
Lieu : Salle des séminaires de l’IBS - 71, avenue des Martyrs - Grenoble
Orateur : Sébastien GRANIER (Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle, Montpellier)
During this presentation, I will present our efforts to analyze the mechanisms of seven transmembrane proteins function (G protein-coupled receptor and ceramidases) using structural biology approaches including solution NMR and fluorescence spectroscopy as well as cryoelectron microscopy and LCP crystallography.
In particular, I will highlight the conformational changes associated with opioid receptor activation and the structural basis for receptor-G protein coupling.
I will also present our recent discovery revealing the adiponectin receptors as novel types of intramembrane enzymes able to hydrolyse the bioactive lipid ceramide and our recent analyses of the conformational changes occuring during this process.
