High-resolution gamma-ray spectroscopy at Legnaro National Laboratories : the avenue towards the SPES radioactive ion beam facility
Vendredi 1er mars 2019 11:00
- Duree : 1 heure
Lieu : Seminar Room 7/8 - ILL 1, 71 avenue des Martyrs, Grenoble
Orateur : Daniele MENGONI (INFN - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, Via Enrico Fermi 40, 00044 Frascati (Roma), Italy)
The Legnaro National Laboratories have a long-standing tradition in gamma-ray spectroscopy. They hosted the most recent HPGe arrays, from GASP, one of the first Compton-shielded large HPGe array to AGATA, the first operational tracking array worldwide, that is also planned to be one of the major instrument at the time of the SPES reaccelarated ISOL beams.
In this context, a new resident gamma-ray spectrometer GALILEO has been developed. After a 1-y long commissioning campaign, a physics campaign started. In such campaign, GALILEO has been combined with a light-charge particle and a neutron array, EUCLIDES and NEUTRON WALL, respectively, for the investigation of neutron-deficient nuclei. The first results will be reported and a perspecitve towards SPES will be given.
