High-pressure synthesis method is a useful tool for obtaining novel materials with unusual structures and electronic states. We investigated electrocatalytic prorperties of transition metal oxides synthesized under high pressure. CaCu3Fe4O12, a quadruple perovskite containing Fe4+ unusual-high-valence ions, dem onstrated high activity and durability for oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline conditions. We investigated quadruple perovskite CaCu3B4O12 (B = Ti-Co), leading to a conclusion that their structural feature contributes to enhanced catalytic activity. Structure-activity relationship in this system is going to be discussed.
