Abstract :
The University of Waterloo (UW) and Mount Sinai Hospital Biosensor Team (University of Toronto, (UofT) have formed a partnership with Grenoble INP at Communauté Université Grenoble-Alpes (ComUE UGA) of France to manufacture a portable, low cost and selective field effect transistor (FET) biosensors. These sensors are based on array technology and modulated using Si-nanowires networks (Si-nanonets) and 2D (two-dimensional) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) materials including graphene gel, that are more sensitive, have a wider dynamic range and greater reproducibility, and easier to use than existing biomedical research detection arrays. The sensor, based on nanostructured materials technology developed at UW (Canada) and Grenoble INP (France), is designed to be ultrasensitive, highly selective, have a responsivity (detection) less than a min, and will be based on multiplexing biomarker- graphene oxide gel-, and Si-nanonet-FET array biosensors that are capable of sensing solutions having different biomarkers with analyte concentrations less than 1 picomolar.
