Systematic and multivariate methods of crystal optimization for neutron diffraction
Jeudi 12 septembre 2013 11:00
- Duree : 1 heure
Lieu : CIBB seminar room, second floor, ILL - 6 rue Jules Horowitz - Grenoble
Orateur : Patrick Shaw STEWART (Douglas Instruments Ltd, Hungerford, Berkshire, UK)
The Oryx range of robots was originally designed in the laboratory of David Blow to carry out theoretical analysis of crystallization during an era when large crystals were required for structure determination. This has resulted in a legacy of tools that are useful for growing large crystals for neutron diffraction. In this presentation I will describe two quick methods of determining phase diagrams, approaches to automatic microseeding that can quickly give single crystals, multivariate experimental designs, and methods of controlling temperature.
